<br /> <br /> <br /> ~JNYY Oi M~i <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> 7TH Of MT~ <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 148 09 <br /> <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Hilo Medical Center Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, <br /> supports the health care of our community and its visitors by assisting Hilo Medical Center <br /> develop its capabilities through volunteerism, community education, and financial support; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Medical Center Foundation created "The Rural Family Practice <br /> Residency Program" as more physicians are needed to care for our growing and aging population <br /> on the Hawaii Island; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Hilo Medical Center Foundation's goals is to train young <br /> physicians as Family Practitioners, specializing rural medicine; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, annually six physicians will graduate and six new physicians will enter the <br /> program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Medical Center Foundation along with the Community Healthcare <br /> Action Taskforce and the Kona Community Hospital Foundation are working together to keep <br /> this program alive; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 will be <br /> appropriated to the Hawaii Fire Department to help fund the "Rural Family Practice Residency <br /> Program" at the Hilo Medical Center Foundation; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> <br /> FUND: General <br /> <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $68,141.65 <br />
