COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 149 09 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br />A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the St. Joseph High School Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and <br />supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage <br />drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in <br />drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the <br />graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after <br />graduation; and <br />WHEREAS, the reduction of underage drinking and substance abuse serves a valid <br />public purpose; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth <br />programs which promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night <br />activities; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Liquor Control to be used towards the St. Joseph High School Grad Night; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $500 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $500 <br />Public Programs, Misc. Contract Services <br />(2009 St. Joseph High School Grad Night) <br />
