COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 1.51 09 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Place of Puna, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the lead agency of the Ready to Learn School Supply Project; and WHEREAS, this year will be the fifth year of distributing school supplies to children in need in order to provide them with a "jump start" on learning; and WHEREAS, last year, 1,353 children from over 39 schools received school supplies, which were passed out at Maku`u Farmer's Market and St. Theresa's Church in Mountain View; and WHEREAS, of those that received school supplies last year, 696 children identified themselves as Hawaiian, 255 were in foster or some type of kinship care, and 114 were either orphaned or had only one parent; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used towards the Neighborhood Place of Puna` s Ready to Learn School Supply Project; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,500 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC-Contingency Relief $2,500 CREDITED TO: 010.271.5271.02 Office of the Prosecuting Attorney $2,500 Prosecuting Atty OCE, Misc. Contract Services (Neighborhood Place of Puna -Ready to Learn School Supply Project)
