COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 155 09 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br />A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department conducts several preventive programs at schools <br />and in the community in an effort to reduce crime, drug abuse, violence and provide a safe <br />school environment; and <br />WHEREAS, as community helpers, police officers will visit a requesting school, <br />covering pre-school and kindergarten through the third grade, to teach the youngsters the role <br />of the police officer and their duties and, more importantly, try to make the youngsters <br />understand that the police officer is their friend; and <br />WHEREAS, a session will typically feature an explanation of the equipment an officer <br />carries, a lecture on traffic safety, getting along with society and respecting your parents, <br />followed by a question answer period with a finale of issuing a "Your Friend the Police <br />Officer" coloring book along with a gold "Junior Police Officer" badge; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii County Police Department to be used towards the purchase of Junior Police Officer <br />badge stickers; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />GENERAL <br />$600 <br />Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief <br />$600 <br />010.201.5203.02 Police Department $600 <br />Police Adm Div-OCE, Educ-Recr-Scientif <br />(Junior Police Officer Badge Stickers) <br />
