Z3 V=; <br /> Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 <br /> l <br /> Re: Operating Budget <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an <br /> additional $700,000 into Office of Housing and Community Development's Housing <br /> Voucher Program. This increase in appropriation reflects the updated allocation to be <br /> received from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for the period <br /> July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program. <br /> The $700,000 is to be used for payment of rental assistance for eligible participants of the <br /> program. The Office of Housing and Community Development expects to expand this <br /> allocation by June 30, 2009. <br /> To expedite this matter, the Office of Housing and Community Development humbly request <br /> a waiver from the Finance Committee and to have this bill heard at the next Council meeting <br /> scheduled for May 20, 2009. <br /> <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Office of Housing and <br /> Community Development. <br /> <br /> <br /> hv,7 ~~~p <br /> <br /> Nancy E.
