No. 284/Bill No. 72 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 3:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 72, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Bill No. 72, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 284 dated <br /> April 23, 2009, amends Section 18-1 to add a definition for "director of finance" because other sections of <br /> the chapter now use that term. Section 18-38, related to taxicab permits, is amended to replace the term <br /> "serial" with the correct term "permit" referring number on the taxi permit, and to remove the requirement <br /> that the driver's home address be displayed, replacing that with the taxi company name. <br /> <br /> Chapter 18, Section 18-38 includes the requirement that taxi driver's permits be posted in a prominient <br /> place within the vehicle. Taxi driver's have expressed concern regarding the requirement that they <br /> include their address on the permit.
