Committee for possible revision and another vote.
Your statements regarding this leads me to believe that it will come before
the council under a revised measure.
Assuming that this will happen, as I informed you, and I request that you
inform the other members of the County Council by giving them a copy of
this letter as you told me you would that I am prepared to see that this
bill is defeated once and for all, providing it is brought up for another
vote, whether it be fora $5.00 or more increase. This is not an idle
statement, whereas there rill be an editorial in the Tribune-Herald news-
paper shortly and a radio statement that dill inform people who are
affected by this bill, to be present when and if it is once again brought
up for vote.
As I told. you in our conversation, there is a lot of money that can be
collected, so it behooves everyone in the Council~to make a little more
effort to collect what is rightly due the County, insteadgof sitting back
and taking the route of least resistance by "clipping" people like me on
fixed incomes. I am sure that somebody can come up with an idea of hox
to do it, dust as well as figuring hox you can "stick it to the Seniors".
~n closing, I am holding you to your statement that I would be advised, in
advance, as to the movement of this bill. I will hold:_;~y this
promise, and trust that you are a man of word.
Ve~2
Comm. No. ~ ~ Yexgr y yo
ale No. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Ref. Tos ichard M. Rice
Ref.
