COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />2gO 09 <br />A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE ADMINISTRATIVE AND <br />LEGISLATIVE BODIES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`i TO COLLABORATE <br />AND ENGAGE IN DIALOG REGARDING HIRING A FEDERAL LOBBYIST <br />SPECIFICALLY TO IDENTIFY AND PURSUE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND <br />REINVESTMENT ACT ("ARRA") FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br />WHEREAS, the national economic situation is currently being addressed by <br />provisions set forth in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA"); and <br />WHEREAS, many projects and programs in the County ofHawai`i qualify for <br />funding assistance under the provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act <br />("ARRA"); and <br />WHEREAS, a federal lobbyist employed to identifying these projects and <br />programs and lobby for their funding on behalf of the County of Hawaii would greatly <br />expedite access to that funding; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />that the administrative and legislative bodies of the County ofHawai`i collaborate and <br />engage in dialog regarding hiring a federal lobbyist specifically to identify and pursue <br />American Recovery and Reinvestment Act ("ARRA") opportunities applicable to the <br />specific needs of the County ofHawai`i. <br />,', , <br />
