Box 898 <br />Kailua-Kona, HI 96745 <br />WA`t'ER USAGE CALCiILATIONS <br />SPECIAL PERMIT (SPP 1010) <br />APPLICANT -GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH <br />TAX N1AP ICEY 7-4-006:038 <br />We have reviewed the estimated average daily water usage calculations for the proposed church anld <br />find them acceptable. <br />Based on the estimated average daily usage of 1,766 gallons per day (UPD), or five (5) equivalent <br />units of water at 400 GPD per unit, water can be made available for the church, and a 1-inch meter! <br />should be adequate to provide the estimated demand. A reduced pressure type backflow prevention <br />assembly must be installed within five (5) feet of the meter on private property and the installation u <br />must be inspected and approved by the'Departmerit before. water service can be activated. <br />Also, please be informed that the existing service is adequate for only one dwelling unit at an average <br />daily usage of 400 gallons. Inasmuch as this application is proposing an additional dwelling (Pastor's <br />house), the installation of a separate $/8-inch meter is required. - <br />Therefore, prior to granting water service, the prevailing facilities charge, which.is subject to change, <br />of $33,000.00 must be paid. The facilities charge is due upon completion of the necessary water <br />system improvements <br />Please be reminded that after the completion of water system improvement and payment of applicable <br />fees, there will be no water available for a proposed school. Extensive improvements and additions, <br />which may include, but not limited to source, storage, booster pumps, transmission, and distribution <br />facilities, would be required.
