COUNTY OF HAWAI'I STATE OF HAWAI'I RESOLUTION NO. 21.3 09 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF OPENING THE HALE HALAWAI PARKING LOT IN KAILUA-KONA VILLAGE. WHEREAS, Hale Halawai is located in the Kailua-Kona Village, and listed in the Parks and Recreational Facility Schedule, Section 15-68.1, Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition); and WHEREAS, the parking lot within the Hale Halawai facility has been gated and closed from daily use by the general public for a few years; and WHEREAS, there is an ongoing need for adequate parking within the Kailua-Kona Village; and WHEREAS, opening the parking lot at the Hale Halawai facility on a daily basis would greatly benefit patrons of the village, visitors and the general public; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I, that the Department of Parks and Recreation is directed to open the parking lot at the Hale Halawai facility on a daily basis with restrictions as it deems necessary and appropriate. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable Mayor William Kenoi, the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Director of Finance.
