DUTIES OF THE POSITION <br /> List each duty assigned to the position separately. Arrange these duties in logical order beginning with those performed most frequently and followed by those <br /> performed occasionally. Be clear, complete, and concise. Stick to statements of fact; avoid the use of vague or general terms. Give an estimate of the average <br /> amount of time spent in performing each major duty. If more space is needed, use a blank sheet and attach to this forth. <br /> Under the general supervision of the Park Planner, Park Projects Manager, implements Park Site and recreational facility Show <br /> development and improvement projects. Manages projects from planning inception through physical completion and % <br /> occupancy. of time. <br /> 1. Reviews design drawings, details, specifications, cost estimates, related reports and studies, etc. with design consultants, <br /> contractors, departmental representatives and representatives from other government or private agencies to ensure that all 60% <br /> requirements and compliance regulations are met and all necessary approvals secured; recommends approval to Park <br /> Planner. Collaborates with design consultants (i.e., architects, engineers, planners, surveyors, hazardous material assessors, <br /> etc.) on project work scope, design, intent, and adherence to schedules. (1,2,3,4) <br /> 2. Investigates complaints relating to park facilities; resolves problems or prepares recommendation on resolution. Researches, <br /> complies data and prepares technical an operational reports. Prepares and/or reviews correspondence, reports, material take- <br /> offs, cost estimates and other technical data required to manage design and construction projects; creates and maintains 15% <br /> project schedules, progress tracking information, and project files. (1,2) <br /> 3. Assists Department of Public Works and other departments in observing contractors; reviews submittals; requests for <br /> information, schedules, cost proposals, etc.; observes the work of contractors during construction to ensure compliance with <br /> project specification and plans for grounds and facilities. Reviews project field changes and change orders for reasonableness <br /> and assists in drafting and processing change orders, post contract documents and other contractual documents. (1,2,3) 10% <br /> 4. Collaborates with departmental staff, community members, volunteer groups; and governmental agencies to plan and <br /> implement park and recreational improvement and development projects. Assists in development and implementation of <br /> standards relating to acquisition, planning , design and construction of parks and recreation facilities. May represent the <br /> department in meetings and conferences with other governmental agencies, the County Council and community groups on <br /> matters relating to projects.
