REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND <br /> INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS <br /> <br /> DATE: July 7, 2009 Re: Comm No.406/Bill 99 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Ben Franklin Bldg, 2"d Floor <br /> 333 Kilauea Ave. <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> TIME: 10:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 406Bi1199, reports as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br /> (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC {adds South <br /> Kopua Road to Article 10, Division 1 (Speed Limits), Section 24-255, Schedule 3 (25 mile per <br /> hour limit), paragraph (g), Puna, pursuant to a request from the Hawaii County Police <br /> Department to update the Hawaii County Code to ensure that the Traffic Schedules section of <br /> Chapter 24 reflects field conditions}. <br /> Puna Community Policing Officer Scott Amaral testified this codification is requested to assist <br /> with reducing the protestation traffic at the County Court.
