No. 496/Reso 228-09 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> 78-128 Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 <br /> <br /> TIME: 2:00 pm <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred <br /> Communication 496/Reso 228-09, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Communication 496, dated August 17, 2009 from Deputy Corporation Counsel Gerald A. <br /> Takase seeks the Council's approval in accepting a dedication to the County of Hawaii a 2.003 <br /> acres parcel in the Honoli`i Place Subdivision at Pauka`a for park purposes. <br /> <br /> An attachment to Communication 496, dated March 12, 2009 from BJ Leithead Todd, Planning <br /> Director, states this meets compliance of Condition I in Ordinance 96-121 and supports <br /> acceptance with reservations; recommends that the Department of Parks and Recreation be <br /> consulted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Fitzgerald, Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation testified before your <br /> committee to express his support, and to state any potential issues with grading and grassing of <br /> this park space have been addressed in meetings between his department personnel and members <br /> of the local community.
