COUNTY OF HAW iiATE OF HAWAI'I RESOLUTION NO. 239 09 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR HIS DULY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE TO NEGOTIATE, EXECUTE AND SUBMIT THE NECESSARY APPLICATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE KALOKO HOUSING PROJECT IN NORTH KONA, THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE FUNDS GRANT AGREEMENT AND OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has advised the County of Hawai'i that Congress has approved and President Obama has signed the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, 2009 (P.L. 111-8) (the Act); and WHEREAS, the Act provides for Economic Development Initiative Funds of $475,000 for the construction of the Kaloko Housing Project in North Kona, Hawai'i; and WHEREAS, HUD has invited the County to submit an application for the $475,000 of Economic Development Initiative Funds for the construction of the Kaloko Housing Project in North Kona, Hawai'i; and WHEREAS, the County wishes to apply for the $475,000 Economic Development Initiative Funds for the construction of the Kaloko Housing Project in North Kona, Hawai'i; and WHEREAS, a timely submission of the application for Economic Development Initiative Funds, in accordance with the appropriate federal requirements, is necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that the Mayor or his duly authorized representative is hereby authorized to negotiate, execute and submit the Economic Development Initiative Funds application for the construction of the Kaloko Housing Project in North Kona, Hawai'i, and all other related documents, agreements, and information necessary to process and implement the Economic Development Initiative Funds application to HUD in the amount of $475,000.
