REQUEST: <br /> <br /> Appropriate $191,000 for the receipt of funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources <br /> Conservation Service (NRCS) for the Kaumana Drive Flood Protection Phase of the Wailuku-Alenaio <br /> Watershed Plan. Funds were establish through an Agreement for Services No. 65-9251-9-838, dated <br /> September 23, 2009, between the County of Hawaii and the USDA NRCS. Execution of the Agreement was <br /> authorized by the County Council through Resolution 235-09. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The USDA NRCS will reimburse the County of Hawaii for consultants fees necessary to prepare a <br /> construction plans and specifications to provide flood protection to homes along Kaumana Drive between <br /> Chong Street and one-half mile above Wilder Road in accordance with a NEPA Environmental Assessment <br /> and the Preliminary Engineering Report. <br /> <br /> The USDA NRCS will provide over-sight for this work. In the past, work was performed entirely by the <br /> NRCS.
