Lee, via Communication No. 464, dated August 25, 2009, amends Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-255 (schedule 3. 25 mile per hour limit), paragraph (g), Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) by adding the following subparagraphs, to be appropriatedly numbered and to read as follows: "O Alaula Street." "O Ali`i `Anela Street." "O Ali`i Kane Street, from Hawaii Belt Road to a point 0.6 miles in the southerly direction." "O A I i ` i Koa Street." "O Anuhea Street." "O Mokuna Street." "O Old Volcano Road." "O Pa Ali'[ Street. There was no testimony from the public on this proposed bill. Traffic Division Chief Ron Thiel appeared before Your Committee. Mr. Thiel commented that this amendment is necessary to update the Hawaii County Code. This effort has the support of the Hawaii Police Department as they believe that it will aid in their speed limit enforcement operations.
