COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 303 00 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CRIME <br /> PREVENTION AND JUSTICE ASSISTANCE DIVISION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-?, FOR A <br /> DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TRAINING GRANT <br /> WHEREAS, the State Depaztment of Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice <br /> Assistance has authorized funding to improve the handling of domestic violence incidents within <br /> the County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Depaztment is ready and willing to proceed with its <br /> obligations for the Domestic Violence Training; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county depaztments obtain <br /> the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting <br /> action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any <br /> funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, <br /> that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Department of the <br /> Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, State of Hawaii, to ensure <br /> service of court issued documents involving crimes of violence against women. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign <br /> the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and <br /> the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. <br /> <br />
