COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION N0.319 00 <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING SEVEN (7) FIRE FIGHTER POSITIONS FOR NEW <br /> <br /> VOLCANO EMS UNIT <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, which funds the <br /> Emergency Medical Services Program, has authorized the start-up of a new advanced <br /> life support (ALS) ambulance in the Volcano area; and <br /> WHEREAS, it has agreed to fund seven (7) fire fighter positions for the new EMS <br /> unit in Volcano; and <br /> WHEREAS, lodging facilities for the personnel are to be provided by the Federal <br /> Government; and <br /> WHEREAS, by creating seven (7) Fire Fighter, SR-17 positions, the new unit can <br /> commence on October 1, 2000; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that <br /> the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...fortyhich appropriations have been <br /> made by the council...". <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAII that seven (7) Fire Fighter, SR-17 positions be created. <br /> <br />
