<br />. B . NO. <br /> <br />A BILL FOR AN ACT <br /> <br />RELATING TO LAND USE. <br /> <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HA WAIl: <br /> <br />1 SECTION 1. The purpose of this Act is to abolish the state <br /> <br /> <br />2 land use commission and state land use districts. <br /> <br /> <br />3 SECTION 2. Section 26-18, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is <br /> <br />4 amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows: <br /> <br />5 "(b) The following are placed in the department of <br /> <br />6 business, economic development, and tourism for administrative <br /> <br />7 purposes as defined by section 26-35: Aloha Tower development <br /> <br />8 corporation, Hawaii community development authority, Hawaii <br /> <br />9 housing finance and development corporation, high technology <br /> <br />10 development corporation, [l~nd uoe commiooion,] natural energy <br /> <br />11 laboratory of Hawaii authority, and any other boards and <br /> <br />12 commissions as shall be provided by law. <br /> <br />13 The department of business, economic development, and <br /> <br />14 tourism shall be empowerkd to establish, modify, or abolish <br /> <br />15 statistical boundaries for cities, towns, or villages in"the <br /> <br />16 State and shall publish, as expeditiously as possible, an up-to- <br />
