The General Plan calls for the formation of Action <br />Committees, which would be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the County Council. <br /> <br />The removal of one of the Action Committee members necessitated the need to identify and nominate an alternate <br />who is eager to participate in the COP process as an Action Committee member. We would appreciate your <br />attention on this matter and are requesting that this item be placed on the November 17, 2009 Planning Committee <br />,o,genda for discussion and with confirmation of this individual on the December 1, 2009 full Council agenda. <br /> <br />It is my pleasure to nominate Giovanna Gherardi to the Action Committee for NKCDP. Ms. Gherardi is a retired <br />Nursing and Hospital Administrator and is a six year resident of the North Kohala community. She is currently self- <br />employed as an Organizational Consultant and has used her unique skill set to help many local groups increase <br />their organizational capacity. Ms. Gherardi has served as President for the West Hawaii Mediation Center and was <br />an integral part of the North Kohala COP planning team, serving as facilitation and meeting consultant to the <br />Project Manager: She is committed to the implementation of the North Kohala COP and sees the Action <br />Committee's efforts as examples of working collaboratively to accomplish common goals and in the process <br />developing the leadership capacity of local residents. <br /> <br />Should you have any questions or concerns, please call me at your convenience.
