<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> V or <br /> <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. 141 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 09 136 <br /> <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br /> (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this amendment is to alter the right of way at the <br /> <br /> subject intersection based on the route having higher traffic volume. Accordingly, this <br /> <br /> amendment would remove the stop control at the southeast approach of Amaumau Road and add <br /> <br /> a yield control at the northeast approach of Mahi`ai Road. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-264 (Schedule 12. Stop <br /> <br /> intersections), paragraph (g), Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> <br /> amended), is amended to delete paragraph (16) as follows: <br /> <br /> "(16) Entering Mahi'ai Read inteFseetion ftem Amaufnaa Read from a <br /> southwesterly dir-eetion." <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-265 (schedule 13. Yield <br /> <br /> locations), paragraph (g), Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br /> <br /> amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Mahi`ai Road, northeast approach at the Amaumau Road <br /> intersection." <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is <br /> <br /> underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and stricken material <br /> <br /> and underscoring need not be included. <br />
