<br />COUNTY OF HAWAI'I STATE OF HAWAI'I <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 286 09 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A FIRE <br />TRUCK FROM THE KOHALA RANCH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION TO THE <br />COUNTY OF HAW AI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kohala Ranch Community Association ("Association") recognizes the <br /> <br />need for emergency fire suppression services for the Kohala Ranch community, and wishes to <br /> <br />assist the Hawai'i Fire Department ("Fire Department") in providing such services to this <br /> <br />geographical area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Association has purchased a new 2010 Freightliner M2106 Fire Truck, <br /> <br />Vehicle Identification Number IFVDCYBS4ADAN9365, which was built to specifications with <br /> <br />input from the Fire Department, with a total estimated value of$ 150,000.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Association desires to donate this fire truck to the Fire Department, to be <br /> <br />assigned to the Kohala Ranch Volunteer Fire Station and to provide emergency services to the <br /> <br />Kohala Ranch and South Kohala geographic area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, ofthe Hawai'i County Charter provides that the <br /> <br />Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> <br />HAW AI'I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, <br /> <br />the Council of the County of Hawai'i accepts the fire truck. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County ofHawai'i is directed to <br /> <br />transmit copies of this Resolution to (1) the Honorable William P. Kenoi, Mayor of the County <br />
