COUNTY OF HAWAI'I STATE OF HAWAI'I RESOLUTION NO. 287 09 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,000 TO THE HAWAI'I FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, in appreciation of a rescue at Hapuna Beach Park by the Ocean Safety Officers, Mr. Dillion H. Braun and TI-LE-AN Management, Inc. have donated $2,000 to the Hawai'i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the funds will be used to purchase needed equipment related to the mission of providing ocean safety operations and public safety education programs; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'j County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and WHEREAS, the Hawai'j Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawai'i accepts the $2,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. Dillion H. Braun, TI-LE-AN Management, Inc., 165 E. Parks Highway, Suite 207, Wasilla, Alaska 99654, acknowledging this generous donation. Dated at Kona , Hawai'i, this 16t~ day of Decenber I 2009.
