Kenoi, dated <br /> October 29, 2009, presents a Request for Change of District Classification by Janice Oshiro, at <br /> Waiakea Houselots, 2"d Series, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-022:008. <br /> <br /> Bill No. 175 seeks to change the zoning from Single-Family Residential - 10,000 square feet <br /> (RS-10) to General Commercial - 20,000 (CG-20) for the parcel, which is approximately 20,314 <br /> square feet in size. The property is located along the northeast corner of the Kino`ole <br /> Street/Kamana Street intersection. <br /> <br /> There was no public testimony on the matter. <br /> <br /> Sidney Fuke appeared before your Committee on behalf of the applicant. Mr. Fuke stated that <br /> the applicant plans to provide parking for neighboring medical and business offices. Mr. Fuke <br /> also stated that the existing structure will some day in the future be demolished and replaced by <br /> an office building. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hayashi appeared before your Committee on behalf of the Planning Department and <br /> informed your Committee that language regarding affordable housing requirements was <br /> inadvertently omitted. <br /> <br /> Planning Committee Chair Donald Ikeda stated that he will work with the department to include <br /> the proper language and would present a proposed amendment at Council. <br /> <br /> Your Committee concurs with the Planning Commission and the Planning Director's favorable <br /> recommendation for approval of the re-zoning request. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> PC Report 54 <br />
