COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 189 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 7-8 OF <br />THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), <br />RELATING TO CIVIL DEFENSE, DISASTER CONTROL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`l: <br />SECTION L The purpose of this measure is to regulate the use of water spigots and to <br />update water hauling charges during times of declared emergency. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 7, article 2, section 7-8, of the Hawaii Comity Code 1983 (2005 <br />edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />Section 7-8. Water spigots and water hauling charges. <br />(a) If within any district of the County, upon a declaration of an ernergency by the mayor, residents <br />request that water be hauled to their residences, they shall pay the. County an amount equivalent to <br />[fifty pefeent of the total standard commercial hatiling ehafg <br />(b) One year- after n tgi st 1 1978, eb f side t shall y the ,tint , al to Seventy five <br />per-ee„t of the total standm leommer-eial hauling eharges <br />rem Two years after -August 1, 1978, feside sh.,ll p the County a amount equivalent to] the <br />total standard commercial hauling charges. <br />[(d) The County shall make water- available for- hatiling at no ehafge to each fequesting •] <br />(b) Where water spigots are provided for under this Chapter, it shall be for residential cooking and <br />drinking use only and subject to the following: <br />(1) A limit of fifty-fivealg lons per dam and <br />(2) The container size shall be no more than fiftv-five Lallons. <br />SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. <br />In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not <br />be included. <br />
