<br />"a'--~. <br /> <br />. <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No.Q,5S.g:.S <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE <br />HAWAII RECREATION AND PARK ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE A SUMMER FUN SCHOLARSmp <br />PROGRAM IN THE HAMAKUA AND KA'U DISTRICTS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, theWeinburg Foundation has provided a grant to the Hawaii Recreation and Park Association to <br />serve needy and disadvantaged children; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Recreation and Park Association has donated Two Thousand Dollars of the grant, to the <br />Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a Summer Fun Scholarship Program for needy and disadvantaged <br />children in the Hamakua and Ka'u Districts. . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, ArticleXIII, Section 13-12 of the lIawaii County Charter provides .that the Council, on behalf of the <br />County, may. accept gifts of donations of money; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and <br />Recreation is authorized to accept the donation of Two Thousand Dollars from the Hawaii Recreation and Park <br />Association to provide a Summer f:un Scholarships for needy and disadvantaged children in Hamakua and Ka'u. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHERRESOL VED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward copies of this Resolution to <br />George Yoshida, Director of Parks and Recreation, and Sam Lankford, Ph.D., Hawaii Recreation and Park Association <br />President, at P.O.
