DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HOD) FOR- <br />SPECIAL PURPOSE GRANT (SPG) FUNDS FOR INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT <br />IN PUNA, HAWAI'I. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Senator Daniel K~ Inouye and HUD has advised the <br /> <br />County of Hawai'i that Congress has approved and <br /> <br />· President Clinton has signed the Department of Veteran Affairs <br /> <br />and Independent Agencies Appropriation Act, 1998, P.L. 105-65; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act provides for a Special Purpose Grant of <br /> <br />$500,000 for infrastructure development in Puna, Hawai'i; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HUD has invited the County to submit an application <br /> <br />for the $500,000 Special Purpose Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the County wishes to apply for the $500,000 Special <br /> <br />Purpose Grant for infrastructure development in Puna, Hawai'i; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a timely submission of the application for Special <br />Purpose Grant funds, -- in accordance with the appropriate federal <br /> <br />requirements, is necessary. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> <br />OF HAWAI'I that the Mayor of the County of Hawai'i or, in his <br /> <br />. .
