I live in Kona
and Waiohinu . I have a small shack in your district. On that property I have a small
garden and a few fruit trees. I have established a 500 gallon tank of water for household
purposes and occasional watering. I have tried to get water, but am told no more meters
are available, and will not be available until the city improves the size of the water
lines. I haul my water in a 150 gallon tank on the back of my truck. The new proposed
water terms are totally unreasonable, and puts an unnecessary hardship on those of us who
live simply and frugally. I have never seen the water misused once, ie boat washing, car
washing, etc. If you would sit at the park and see who comes and uses the water you will
see many hard working, conscientious members of the community doing what they need to do
maintain a necessary standard of living that water brings to a household Please do not
take this away from us - -- Alice Bailey Knight
Comm.
