''',~~''.r-''h, ~ . ..rt~:: :\1)' ~~\\t\t!J itf WHEREAS, on September 22, 1971 over 27 years ago, City of Hualieri; Taiwan Republic of Chili! ,and the County of Hawaii established a Sister City relationship by officially signing the Sister City agreement, ~ct ;'.. .', . .'6\ .' .:'," ~ WHEREAS, such a Sister City program has benefited the people oftheaffiUated cities throughthi;~cI1m.t8e of cultural exhibits, educational programs and other matters of ~on interest; and':> ' WHEREAS, as part of the cultural exchange, the Hualien County Government will sponsor a dance performance by the Hualien Teachers' Dance Troupe at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Theater on August 12, 1998. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it recognizes, congratulates and celebrates the 27-year international partnership between City of Hualien, Taiwan Republic of China and the County of Hawaii. ' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hawaii reaffirms its Sister City relationship with the City of Hualien, Taiwan, Republic of China and its commitment to each other. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Mayor of the City of Hualien, Taiwan, Republic of China and the Hualien Teachers' Dance Troupe.
