Yamashiro <br />on July 23, 1998, and published on July 29, 1998; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, September 4, 1998, is the sixtieth calendar day prior to' the next scheduled <br />general election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Saturday, September 19, 1998, is the forty-fifth day prior to the next. <br />scheduled general election. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br />HA WAIl that ithereby directs the Clerk of the County of Hawaii to take all necessary steps <br />provided for in all applicable provisions of the Hawaii County Charter and the Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes, within the prescribed time limits, for placing the Charter amendment proposed by <br />Ordinance 98-78 on the 1998 General Election ballot for approval by the voters of the County. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that those actions include but not be limited to <br />submission of the ballot question to Dwayne D. Yoshina, Chief Election Officer of the State of <br />Hawaii, prior to 4:30 p.m., September 4, 1998, pursuant to Section 11-119(b), Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes, and publication of the full text of the Charter amendnient proposed by Ordinance 98-78 <br />in the Hawaii Tribune Herald and the West Hawaii Today, two newspapers of general circulation <br />in the county, prior to Saturday, September 19; 1998, the forty-fifth day prior to the 1998 <br />General Election, pursuant to Section 15-2, Hawaii County Charter. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOL VEDthat certified copies of this resolution be sent to <br />Dwayne D.
