WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii owns a portion of the old Honaunau Road at . '.~ . Kumukahi, Honaunau, Hawaii, identified on the tax maps as Tax Map Key No. (3)8-4-011, adjacent to thePu'uhonua 0 Honaunau National Historic Park, and as shown on attached Exhibit" A"; and WHEREAS, the roadway was abandoned in 1960 as a public roadway, when the current Honaunau Road was constructed; and WHEREAS, the deed from Bishop Estate to the County of Hawaii states that the right-of-way could onlybe used for roadway purposes, and that at anytime should the County of Hawaii abandon or cease to maintain and use said road right-of-way for the purpose of a public highway, then, and in either case, the estate and title conveyed shall revert to and revest in said Bishop Estate; and WHEREAS, Section 2-111, Hawaii County Code, requires that real property shall be disposed of through resolution approved by a majority of the Council. . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA WAIl, that the Finance Director is authorized to dispose of that portion
