REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br />DATE: February 2, 2010 Re: Comm. 673/13/11 197 <br />PLACE: Councilroom <br />Hawaii County Building <br />25 Aupuni Street <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br />TIME: 4:17 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 197, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 197, transmitted via Communication No. 673 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated <br />December 18. 2009, presents a Change of Zone Request by Hawaii Brewery, at Kea'au, Puna District, <br />Hawaii, TMK: 1 -6- 141:024. <br />Bill No. 197 seeks to amend Section 25 -8 -22 (Puna District Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning <br />Code) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the District Classification from <br />Agricultural —5 Acres (A -5a) to Family Agricultural — 2 acres (FA -2a) at Kea'au, Puna District, Hawaii. <br />There was no public testimony. Applicant was represented by Sidney Fuke, Planner, who was present at <br />the meeting. One Committee member expressed concerns regarding the impact on the Kea'au Bypass <br />Road.
