":" <br />. ,.)>>,>..-:- - . -:-"" <br /> <br />< 'd" <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWA <br /> <br /> <br />TATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 317".9 8 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF A SUBLEASE TO KAI'OPUA <br />, CANOE CLUB FOR TH'E PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND USING CANOE <br />STORAGE FACILITIES ON 5.7 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED AT KAILUA PARK. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to General Lease No. S-5271, dated July 6, 1994, the <br /> <br />County of Hawaii is the lessee of 5.7 acres of land located at Kailua Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kai'Opua Canoe Club, a non-profit corporation of the State of' <br /> <br />Hawaii, is the "kahu" or leader of the subject premises which shall, in a spirit of <br /> <br />cooperation and inclusion, provide several individual canoe clubs canoe storage facilities <br /> <br />to safeguard their canoes from vandalism and theft; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County through its Department of Parks and Recreation, desires <br /> <br />to give the necessary consent to permit Kai'Opua and other Kona area canoe clubs to <br /> <br />construct and use canoe storage facilities on property in which the County has a leasehold . <br /> <br />interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-120 (a)(2) of the Hawaii County <br /> <br />Code, provides that the. County Council may, by resolution approved by a majority of its <br />
