OF CRIME ACT GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of the Attorney General of the State of <br /> <br />Hawaii, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, has authorized <br /> <br />funding for expenses to assist victims of crime through the judicial process; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the funds provided by the Department of the Attorney <br /> <br />General are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with <br /> <br />the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any <br /> <br />of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> <br /> <br />assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to <br /> <br />those powers. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into <br />- . <br /> <br />Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number 96- V A-4 with the <br /> <br />Department of the Attorney General, State of Hawaii. <br />
