<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, I <br />-, ' ':- <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAIL.Sl"ATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />".:"" " <br />".i.:., .::",~:,,:.: ....:.':...."..,.. :-":','/;.' <br /> <br />_. ,;.,:,..-::...:......:>. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 346(;)0:98 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO <br />HRS 46-7, FOR A VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND YOUTH GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America through the U. S. Department <br /> <br />of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has authorized funding for expenses to <br /> <br />prosecute crimes of Violence Against Children and Youth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the funds provided by the U. S. Department of Justice, Office <br /> <br />of Justice Programs, are derived from grants provided by the federal <br /> <br />government; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with <br /> <br />the federal or state govemments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any <br /> <br />of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> <br />assistance in connection with projects beingor to be undertaken pursuant to <br /> <br />those powers." ' <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into <br /> <br />Negotiated Agreement for GrantContract Number 98-DB-4 with the U. S. <br />Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. <br />
