"'. :.-,:'. ,",.-. ,,:.:-:., RESOLUTION NO.~ WHEREAS, John Ray has been a Council Member of the County of Hawai'i since December 5, 1994, representing Council District 9, North and South Kohala, Waikoloa and Waimea; and WHEREAS, during these past four years, Councilmember Ray has served as Chairman of the Committee on Human Services and Economic Development and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Finance; and WHEREAS, during his tenure, Councilmember Ray has also been a standing member of numerous Standing Committees, including prior service as Chairman and Vice-Chair of the Committee on Human Services and Public Works and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Rural Infrastructure; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Ray's dedication, commitment, articulation of issues, judicious temperament, easygoing nature, wit and integrity have marked his legislative career and provided quality service to our community; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Ray will complete his term on December 7, 1998. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I that it hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Councilmember Ray for his years of valuable service together with their best wishes for continued health, success and prosperity. May the past happy memories be a prelude to future memories! BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County ofHawai'i transmit a true copy ofthis resolution to Councilmember John Ray.
