,� <V Os y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> s Os <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 330 10 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF <br /> CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT FROM AN ANONYMOUS <br /> BENEFACTOR TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION FOR THE <br /> KAMAKANA CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND IN HIGASHIHARA PARK, NORTH <br /> KONA. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kamakana Playground in Higashihara Park, North Kona had reached a <br /> state of disrepair, had many safety problems, and was deteriorating rapidly; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Rotary Club, Lion's Club, Drug Court participants, and community <br /> volunteers donated hundreds of hours of labor to renovate the park; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai`i County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, a thoughtful, generous, wonderful, but anonymous benefactor has donated <br /> children's playground equipment valued at $29,235.98 to the Kamakana Playground in <br /> Higashihara Park, effective May 5, 2009; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the <br /> County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
