TIME: 4:40 P.M. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawai`i County Council <br />Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br />REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS <br />DATE: March 16, 2010 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br />78 -128 Ehukai Street <br />Kailua -Kona, Hawai`i 96740 <br />Re: Comm. No. 736 /Res. 309 -10 <br />Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br />Communication 736 and Resolution 309 -10, reports as follows: <br />Resolution 309 -10, transmitted via Communication No. 736 from Council Member Brenda Ford, <br />dated March 4, 2010, urges Hawai`i State Legislators to oppose any proposed legislation <br />legalizing gambling in the State of Hawaii. <br />There were no public testifiers. <br />Council Member Brenda Ford stated she had been approached by the League of Women Voters <br />and other organizations to draft this resolution.
