The amendments are <br />illustrated below via Ramseyer format. A draft copy of Resolution No. 318 -10 Draft 2, is attached <br />with the amendments incorporated therein. They are as follows: <br />1. Amending the ninth whereas clause, to read as follows: <br />"...the FINAL Integrated Resources and Solid Waste Management Plan[]; and" <br />2. Adding the following three whereas clauses after the last whereas clause, to read as <br />follows: <br />"WHEREAS, on December 3, 2009, Hawaii Tribune Herald article, Mayor William <br />Kenoi stated "The county has no intention of implementing a pay -as -you -throw fee at solid <br />waste transfer stations in the near future, Mayor Billy Kenoi said Wednesday. "; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council agrees with the Mayor's sentiment, and <br />will not propose pay -as- you -throw as a method to derive revenues for the County of <br />Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, although the pay as you throw program is documented in the <br />Integrated Resources and Solid Waste Management Plan due to the suggestion by the <br />CH2MHil1 consulting company, and the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, the Council <br />hereby proclaims that any reference to pay -as- you -throw in the Integrated Resources and <br />Solid Waste Management Plan is not supported nor will it be implemented by the County <br />of Hawaii; and" <br />3. Adding a be it further resolved clause to be inserted as the second be it further resolved <br />clause, to read as follows: <br />"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby proclaims that any reference <br />to pay -as- you -throw in the Integrated Resources and Solid Waste Management Plan is not <br />supported nor will it be implemented by the County of Hawaii. <br />Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island <br />Hawai'1 County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />Comm.
