Help the County and its consultants tailor the planning process to the unique <br />characteristics of the Hamakua CDP planning area and its stakeholders. <br />It is my pleasure to submit for your confirmation my nominations to the Hamakua Community <br />Development Plan (CDP) Steering Committee in accordance with the requirements of the <br />County General Plan. <br />As the County's community -based advisory committee for the Hamakua CDP, the Steering <br />Committee will have three principal roles: <br />2. Promote the planning process within various sectors of the community to maximize <br />participation while maintaining a neutral, approachable posture in the community. <br />3. Ensure that the CDP reflects the community's values and vision, as articulated during <br />small group "talk story" meetings, surveys, and other means of input. <br />This group of dedicated and committed community representatives constitutes an excellent <br />working group that will serve the Hamakua CDP planning area residents and stakeholders well. <br />1. Dorothy Ku'ulei Badua is a lifetime resident of Kukuihaele and has held several <br />leadership roles in community organizations, including the Kukuihaele Community <br />Association and the Waipi'o Taro Farmers Association. Ms. Badua is a respected <br />kupuna and currently works as a Community Building Facilitator for Queen Lili'uokalani <br />Children's Center where she is active in perpetuating the Hawaiian culture through <br />education.
