Kenoi , <br />Mayor <br />May 5, 2010 <br />J Yoshimoto, Council Chair and <br />Members of the Hawai'i County Council <br />Hawai'i County Council <br />25 Aupuni Street <br />Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 <br />Re: Operating Budget <br />Pursuant to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) order 94 -102, the State of <br />Hawai'i Wireless Enhanced 911 Board will reimburse the County of Hawaii for approved <br />purchases relating to the provisions of technical functionality for the Wireless Enhanced <br />911 service. The Board is providing an additional $4,895,454.71 to the Hawai'i County <br />Police Department to increase their Pictometry Imagery for its E911 system. This will <br />allow those personnel (dispatcher and officers) involved in responding to the call, the <br />capability to visualize the surrounding areas. This will be mainly used for those remote <br />areas that there may be hazards in the terrain. The E911 system will have data of a <br />higher resolution and will provide the user more,detailed information on the locations. <br />Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget and increasing the <br />Wireless Enhanced 911 System account by another $4,895,455. <br />Due to the urgency of this matter, the Hawai'i County Police Department is requesting a <br />waiver from the Finance Committee and to have this bill heard at the next Council <br />meeting scheduled for May 19, 2010. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Hawaii County Police <br />Department. <br />1/H r 64? <br />Nancy E.
