<br />Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 243, reports as follows:
<br />Bill No. 243, transmitted via Communication No. 798 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated
<br />April 21, 2010, presents a Request for Change of District Classification by Wailani Development, LLC, at
<br />Ponahawai, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK:2 -3- 044:019, 2 -3- 049:053 and 2 -3- 037:001.
<br />Bill No. 243 seeks to amend Section 25 -8 -33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning
<br />Code) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the District Classification from
<br />Agriculture 1 -Acre (A-1 a), Neighborhood Commercial — 40,000 Square Foot (CN -40), Single- Family
<br />Residential — 7,500 Square Foot and 10,000 Square Foot (RS -7.5 and RS -10) and Open (0) to Project
<br />District.
<br />There was no public testimony. Applicants were represented at the meeting by Mr. Sidney Fuke.
<br />Having shared their thoughts regarding the proposed development during the previous discussion portion
<br />for Bill 242, there was no further discussion from your Committee members.
<br />Your Committee concurs with the Windward Planning Commission and the Planning Director's favorable
<br />recommendation for approval of the Change of District Classification request.
<br />Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 243 and recommends it
<br />pass first reading.
