Section 3 — 18 of the Hawai`i County Charter <br /> requires the Legislative Auditor to conduct or cause to be conducted the annual financial audit of <br /> the County. The current contract for the annual audit is in its final year. The procurement for an <br /> Independent Auditor to perform the required annual audit services covering the fiscal years <br /> ending June 30, 2010 through June 30, 2013 is currently being conducted. In reviewing this <br /> matter, I feel that timely approval is crucial and that it therefore would be advantageous if this <br /> matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review.
