Legal advocacy with regards to the Lowest Law Enforcement Priority of Cannabis Ordinance in Hawaii County.
We are collecting testimony from members of the community who have been harmed by the helicopter flights and we will continue to bring this
to the attention of County of Hawaii in an effort to stop the helicopter flights for marijuana eradication. We are also investigating other legal
avenues if these helicopters do not stop. We are encouraging people who are able to show that they are harmed by the helicopters to step
forward and provide sworn testimony or submit photo or video evidence of low -flying helicopters, disturbance to animals, children, the elderly
or those with health problems. We require funds for this project.
. Radio & print media campaign communicating the Lowest Law Enforcement Priority of Cannabis Ordinance to Hawaii
residents.
Given that since the ordinance passed, we have seen misinformation about the law and even suggestions from certain County officials that it
isn't an `enforceable law' it's important to let the community know more about the ordinance. We'd like to see print and radio advertising that
let's people know the law and how it applies to them. Funding is needed for this project.
. Sponsorship of of public events dedicated to informing Hawaii residents of their rights under this law of `Adult Personal Use.'
See here for more events coming up.
In January. we will be hosting a visit from Police Officer David Bratzner of Canada from an organization called LEAP (Law Enforcement
Against Prohibition). He will be speaking to interested temples, synagogues, churches and community groups as well as legislators. This kind of
work is important if we are to `build bridges' in our community and prompt our legislators and Council representatives to make the needed
reforms to drug policies and laws.
In late February we will be sponsoring a tour of `Clan Dyken', a band from Northern California with a great message and a great stage
presence. This is the sequel to the first show we sponosored last year called `Clan Dyken and the Good Medicine Show.' We also hope to raise
funds for Peaceful Sky Alliance. This time Clandyken will tour around the island and this will help us to get the message out far and wide.
http: / /peacefulskyalliance .corm /donate -3/ 6/22/2010 4:02:47 PM
