s . <br />• <br />• <br />(13) Amending Section 1008.2. Section 1008.2 is amended to read as follows: <br />"1008.2 Gates. Gates serving the means of egress system shall comply <br />with the requirements of this section. Gates used as a component in a <br />means of egress shall conform to the applicable requirements for doors. <br />[Exeeption:] Exceptions: <br />(1) Horizontal sliding or swinging gates exceeding the 4 -foot <br />(1219 mm) maximum leaf width limitation are permitted in <br />fences and walls surrounding a stadium. <br />(2) Security gates may be permitted across corridors or <br />passageways in school buildings if there is a readily visible <br />durable sign on or adjacent to the gate, stating `THIS <br />GATE IS TO REMAIN SECURED IN THE OPEN <br />POSITION WHENEVER THIS BUILDING IS IN USE'. <br />The sign shall be in letters not less than one inch high on a <br />contrasting background. The use of this exception may <br />revoked by the building official for due cause. <br />(14) Repealing and Replacing Chapter 11. Chapter 11 is deleted in its entirety and <br />replaced to read as follows: <br />NOTE: Chapter 11 consists of roughly 13 pages of text that have not been added to this <br />document as bracketed and stricken through.
