No. 841/Bill No. 262 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78 -128 Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua -Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 10:35 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 262, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 262, transmitted via Communication No. 841 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated <br /> June 1, 2010, presents a Change of Zone Request by Charles Cavedoni and Rong Hua, at Waiakea, South <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i, TMK: 2 -2- 034:082. <br /> Bill No. 262 seeks to amend Section 25 -8 -33 (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning <br /> Code) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the District Classification from <br /> Single - Family Residential — 10,000 Square Feet (RS -10) to Neighborhood Commercial - 10,000 Square <br /> Feet (CN -10). <br /> One member of the public was present at the meeting to provide non - substantive comment on Bill 262. <br /> Applicant Hua was present at the meeting. Council Member Dominic Yagong stated that he went to the <br /> site of the proposed rezoning, and noted that the request was in keeping with the character and nature of <br /> the neighborhood. He further stated that in his opinion, the proposed project would not produce any <br /> undue noise disturbance to the neighborhood. Committee Chair Donald Ikeda stated that he too went to <br /> the proposed site and that in his opinion, the proposed project was in keeping with the nature and <br /> character of the community.
