• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII (A' PI•'- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 390 10 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER <br /> FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A <br /> MULTI -YEAR LEASE FOR ONE HUNDRED (100) MOBILE DATA <br /> TERMINAL FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10 -11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease <br /> or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal <br /> year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department would like to obtain a five (5) <br /> year lease agreement for one hundred (100) mobile data terminals (MDT); and <br /> WHEREAS, the MDTs, to be placed in various officer's vehicles throughout the <br /> County, will give the officers immediate access to the data base to check warrants, <br /> TROs, and prior arrest information; and <br /> WHEREAS, having immediate access to this type of information will improve the <br /> safety to the patrolling officers; and <br /> WHEREAS, the MDTs will also save time for the officers by allowing them to file <br /> reports when they are away from the station. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAII: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease <br /> agreement for one hundred (100) Mobile Data Terminal for the Hawaii <br /> County Police Department. <br /> 2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the <br /> anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. <br />
