May 28, 2010 <br /> 41 tt..t i. 31 <br /> Bobbie Jean Leithead Todd, Director 43 <br /> Department of Planning <br /> County of Hawaii <br /> 101 Pauahi Street <br /> Hilo, HI 96720 <br /> RE: Requesting Amendment to Ordinance 08 -39 <br /> Dear Director Leithead Todd: <br /> We are requesting an amendment to Ordinance 08 -39, which amended Section 25 -8 -33 <br /> (City of Hilo Zone Map), Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawai`i County <br /> Code 1983 (2005 Edition <br /> We are asking that Condition D of the ordinance be deleted in its entirety, to allow us to <br /> utilize the property for those uses that are permitted for the current Neighborhood <br /> Commercial (CN) zoning status. (See attached) <br /> We are the proprietors of "5- Spice ", a small seed shop /snack shop, currently located <br /> across the street in the Puainako Center. Our shop has been owned and operated by our <br /> family since 1985. We have been in the same location for 25 years. We now need to re- <br /> locate our shop to the subject property, as our lease at the Center will not be renewed. <br /> We must vacate the premises by December 2011 when our lease expires. <br /> We would like to expand the existing 500 square foot dwelling on our property to 1500 <br /> square feet. This building will house our commercial kitchen in which we will prepare <br /> our bento and snacks, a storage area, and retail space for our current operation.
