No. 968/Bill No. 310 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:05 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 310, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 310, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 968, <br /> dated October 6, 2010, amends Ordinance No. 10-59, as amended, the Operating Budget for the <br /> County of Hawai`i of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. The amendment is as follows: <br /> FROM: <br /> 3308.68 Federal Grants— <br /> Na'auao—Where Knowledge is Learned General $145,457 <br /> TOTAL $145,457 <br /> TO: <br /> 010.201.5216.40 Na'auao—Where Knowledge is Learned General $145,457 <br /> TOTAL $145,457 <br /> Sgt. Regino Saludares said the Hawai`i Police Department has applied for accreditation with the <br /> Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the officers need to <br /> be trained in accordance with the nationwide standards set forth by CALEA. The $147,457 grant <br /> will be used to implement an intranet training module which will be capable of training officers in <br /> many required subjects, and will involve testing, re-testing, storing training information, and <br /> tracking the training received by officers. The funds provided by the State of Hawai`i Department <br /> of the Attorney General are derived from grants provided by the federal government. <br /> FC Rept. No. 186 <br />
