REQUEST: <br /> Request to amend Ordinance 10 -60, Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2010 -2011 to include an <br /> appropriation for the following project: <br /> Kailua Recycling and Transfer Station Repairs and Enhancements - $250,000.00 from Fair Share <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> A Project Data /Financial Impact Statement is attached. <br /> The Solid Waste Division of the Department of Environmental Management is seeking to improve the <br /> existing vehicle circulation at the recycle area by paving it with ac pavement along with the installation of new <br /> retaining walls to provide easy recessed access to the recycling bins. Also included in this repairs and <br /> enhancements is the installation of a concrete pad for the community reuse facility. <br /> The purpose of the improvements is to address public health and safety, by providing adequate service to <br /> the community, and replacing existing deteriorated facilities.
